The record button is grey
The app won't record until sound is coming from the microphone. Make sure TimeStamp Camera has Microphone access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, and close other apps that might be using the microphone.
Will a phone call stop my recording?
Not if you ignore or decline it. Set Settings › Apps › Phone › Incoming Calls to Banner. Answering a call always ends the recording, because iOS gives the microphone to the call. The video up to that point is saved.
The app closed while I was recording
Open the app again. Recordings are saved every 2 seconds and unfinished ones are recovered automatically and saved to Photos.
Why does it use the iPhone microphone when my AirPods are connected?
Bluetooth headset microphones filter out background sound such as engine noise, so the app always records with the iPhone's own microphone. Wired and USB-C microphones work.
Free trial and unlock
Every feature is free for 3 days. After that, recording, the live date and time stamp, and saving to Photos stay free. Only Compress for upload locks, and can be unlocked with a one-time purchase. To restore a purchase on a new iPhone, open Settings in the app, tap the unlock row, then Restore Purchases.
